the third and fourth in a suite of environmentally responsive actions undertaken at Redleaf beach in Sydney's east over the course of a 4 month residency
Handmade Indian embossed and pliable paper, metallic pastels, breach in fence
For much of the time, the breach in the fence is not clearly evident. This was the first work in the series to attempt to make a record of the size and shape of the hole in the fence.
Paper is pegged to the fence and metallic pastels are used by two artists to reveal the edges of the breach in the fence by feeling and drawing the fence that is obscured by the paper
The artists swap sides so that the marks and colours of both metallic pastels are shown on the left and right sides of the revealed form.
