Triptych of three actions from the Tidal Boundaries series of site responsive actions at 7 Shillings Beach in Sydney's east
The Tidal Boundaries sequence is a collection of 18 environmentally responsive works, showcasing a subtle palette of charcoal and gold. This set of three works represents the essence of the larger sequence, each piece created in a distinct session.
The makeshift studio, nestled under the Port Jackson fig at Redleaf Beach's eastern end, provided a unique setting for artistic expression. The works incorporate natural elements, such as the Port Jackson fig's roots, which stretch into private land, and the surrounding vegetation. The waves gently lapping at the public side of the beach and the shadows cast by the fence also feature prominently. These elements blend together to create a thought-provoking and visually striking representation of the intersection between public and private spaces. The Tidal Boundaries sequence invites viewers to contemplate the intricate relationships between nature, boundaries, and human experience.
The Tidal Boundaries is currently on exhibition in Sydney during the month of Februrary 2025 as part of the group show Process.ed at Articulate Project Space in Leichardt. Please click here to discover more about the show and details of opening times and the address.
