birdsong sonograph walking/chalking

A walking/chalking project to 'call down' the elusive Powerful Owl, a vulnerable species documented as being present at Bundanon over 30 years of environmental surveys, and yet not recorded as seen or heard for the past 7 years. 

This double-line chalk mark is an abstraction of the call of the powerful owl as graphically depicted in sonographs of Powerful Owls from around the country. 

This abstracted mark is partners a detailed wall-sized studio drawing in my Bundanon studio, a faithful rendering of five instances of Powerful Owl sonographs. 

The chalk mark abstractions were made out in Powerful Owl territory, on trees that have the characteristics of Powerful Owl roosting trees.
