action 1: mending and unmending
the first in a sequence of environmentally responsive actions undertaken at Redleaf beach in Sydney's east over the course of a four month residency

process/score: A time-based work beginning at sunset to coincide with The Little Umbrella Open Studio. A collaborative mending and un-mending of the breach in the fence separating Redleaf. pool and Forty Baskets beach with other Little Umbrella Collective artists Anna and Lulu.

Without a script or pre-arranged plan, use a single length of reflective rope to weave over the gap in the fence. Each artist takes an end and improvises a threading performance, overlapping as they go. Use head torches and a portable spotlight to illuminate the threaded work and leave it in place until dark, or for as long as possible. Then return and un-thread.
